3 Quick Tips for getting the most out of Positive Affirmations

This is the Healing Affirmation I repeat to myself every morning and every night.

Using Positive Affirmations is a bit of hot-topic right now. That’s because they WORK. Repeating Positive Affirmations daily is a proven way to promote positive change in your life, and doing it is simple, easy, and totally free. So here are my 3 Quick Tips to get the MOST out of it!


1. Make it your own.

When I made the Healing Affirmation in the photo, I googled “healing affirmations” then combined the parts of different affirmations that spoke to me the most. So out of 5 or 6 different affirmations I formed my own. I think this is the best way to do it. Using an affirmation that someone else wrote will still work, but it’s going to feel so much more true if you write or piece together your own.


2. Make it believable.

Sometimes when you’re first getting started with using positive affirmations it’s easy to get hung up on them sounding “untrue.” Then you begin focusing on that feeling of dissonance rather than trusting in the affirmation. Keep this in mind when making your own affirmations. For example, chances are saying something like, “Tomorrow I will wake up 100% healed” feels a little far-fetched, but saying something like, “Every day I choose healing for my heart, mind, body, & spirit” is totally possible and positive.


3. Actually use it.

Affirmations only work if you actually repeat them to yourself, and developing the habit of repeating them each day is probably the hardest step. For some reason, incorporating new positive habits (even ones that literally take 2 minutes a day) is really Fing hard! Try to make it as foolproof as possible. You can set 2 alarms on your phone each day to remind you. You can choose what works best for you: repeating them out loud, saying them in your head, or writing them out a few times each day. You can tape them up somewhere convenient, keep them saved as a note in your phone, or write them in a notebook you keep on your nightstand. Whatever is going to make this as EASY as possible for you. I have this Healing Affirmation taped inside my medicine cabinet, and I repeat it every morning and every night while I’m taking my vitamins.


That's it! It really is as simple as that, and you can be on your way to making ANY kind of positive changes in your life a little easier!
